The wait is over–Amazon Prime Day 2020 is officially live, but you don’t have to be a Prime subscriber or even shop at Amazon to get amazing deals today. That’s because this has effectively become a precursor to Black Friday, and competing retailers are getting in on the action with steep discounts on games and tech this week. Best Buy is one of those retailers running a big anti-Prime Day sale of its own, and it made the biggest move we’ve ever seen to compete with Amazon by announcing its first Black Friday deals will go live this week.

Select deals from Best Buy’s Black Friday ad have gone live today, and they feature fantastic discounts on laptops, tablets, and 4K smart TVs along with Arcade1Up cabinets. Notably, you can buy a Samsung 70-inch 4K smart TV for $530, down from its usual $750–just in time for next-gen gaming. There’s

3 “Expensive” Stocks That Are Historically Cheap

Whether you’ve been investing for a few months or multiple decades, it’s been a buckle-up-and-hold-on sort of year. We’ve watched as the S&P 500 set records for the fastest bear market decline in history, as well as the quickest rebound to fresh highs from a bear market low. If anything, 2020 has been a reminder that trying to time the market is fruitless.

This wild year for equities could also represent a coming-out party for value stocks. Historically speaking, value stocks outperform growth stocks during periods of economic expansion, which is where the U.S. economy appears headed.

However, this doesn’t mean that investors should ignore stocks that are perceived as expensive. While many pricey stocks will remain so for the foreseeable future, a trio of fundamentally expensive stocks are actually historically cheap, provided you don’t use the price-to-earnings ratio as your sole measure of value.

Jio’s upcoming cheap smartphone might turn out to be damp squib; here’s why

Even as the Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries is busy signing new deals for its retail and platforms ventures, the conglomerate’s deal with Google to develop low-cost smartphones is being actively followed by the telecom industry watchers. “We believe we can design an entry-level 4G or even 5G smartphone for a fraction of its current cost. Google and Jio are partnering to build an Android-based smartphone operating system,” Ambani said at the RIL’s 43rd annual general meeting in July.

Despite having a fair good start with its low-cost feature phone – JioPhone – the chances of emulating that success with low-cost smartphones might be difficult. How? Indian handset market is divided into two parts: feature phone users and smartphone users. As per IDC, the average selling price of smartphones in India is about Rs

Teracube 2e is an eco-friendly phone that’s cheap and built to last

Last year, Teracube released what it called a “sustainable smartphone” meant to combat e-waste with a long warranty and replaceable battery. If you didn’t get that one, you can now get its successor for about a tenth of the price of a new iPhone.

On Tuesday, Teracube announced the follow-up to its environmentally friendly phone that we reviewed earlier this year. It’s called the Teracube 2e and it brings along the promise of a four-year warranty and replaceable battery with slightly less RAM and storage than its predecessor for a noticeably leaner $200 price point.

And if you pre-order now, Teracube is offering an “early-bird special” price of $99 if you just can’t wait for the 2e.

The Teracube 2e comes with a 6.1-inch display.

One of the most frustrating things about being a smartphone use is how increasingly difficult it is to get a repair done on your device on your own terms—not to mention at a decent price. But newcomer Teracube is back with a second repairable phone, and besides its exceptional warrant and promise of easy repairs this one is also so cheap it might just convince some to chuck that pricey flagship phone.

With the $200 Teracube 2e, the company’s second Android-powered smartphone, the company is rolling out a more earth-friendly device at a lower price while maintaining a lot of the perks of what makes the Teracube so great. For those who aren’t familiar with the company’s original wallet- and repair-friendly device that debuted last year, Teracube promises a four-year warranty with accidental repair coverage at a flat $40 fee that covers shipping, parts, and labor—regardless of
